Gemeenschap voor Brusselse slachtoffers van de rellen

Zaterdagavond 11 november waren we allemaal getuigen van gewelddadige rellen in Brussel. Winkels werden geplunderd, auto’s verbrand en mensen verwond. Als Brusselaar, komt dit hand in hand met een hoop frustratie en onmacht. De eigenaars van de geplunderde zaken worden aan hun lot overgelaten en kunnen zonder hulp niet over deze obstakel geraken.

Dit is de reden waarom ik deze crowdfunding campagne heb gestart. Wij kunnen allemaal samen een impact maken. Met het geld dat verzameld wordt, kunnen we de eigenaar van de meubelwinkel, Frieda, haar huurders en de eigenaars van de nachtwinkel terug op pad helpen. Laten we hen allemaal een handje toesteken! Dit is een oproep naar al mijn mede Brusselaars, naar al mijn vrienden, naar al diegenen die bereid zijn om dat klein beetje extra te doen om mensen in nood te helpen! Geen louche organisaties, niemand heeft hier winst aan, enkel rechtstreekse hulp voor diegenen die het meest geraakt zijn door de rellen!

Zoals Gandhi ooit zei ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’. Nu meer dan ooit moeten wij ons solidair tonen met onze mede-Brusselaren.

Samedi soir, nous avons tous été témoins de la violence dont a été victime notre chère capitale. Ces émeutes ont malheureusement non seulement causé beaucoup de blessés, mais aussi d’innombrables dégâts. En tant que Bruxellois, c’est mon devoir d’agir. Les propriétaires des magasins pillés, sont abandonnés à leur triste sort, sans aucune aide.

Ceci est la raison pour laquelle j’ai érigé cette campagne de crowdfunding pour venir en aide aux victimes de ces émeutes. Tous ensemble, nous pouvons faire une différence. Avec l’argent récolté, les propriétaires des magasins pillés, seront remboursés, pour ainsi les aider à franchir cet obstacle financier.

Nous pouvons créer une réelle différence pour aider ceux dans le besoin. Montrons la solidarité bruxelloise!

Et comme le disait Mahatma Gandhi: ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’.

On the evening of Saturday the 11th of November, we witnessed the violent riots in Brussels that led to incalculable damage and plundered shops. The owners of the plundered shops need our help and support.

As Brussels students, we wish to lend a hand to Frieda, the owner of the furniture store and her tenants. (See her story here: https://nieuws.vtm.be/binnenland/winkelier-ik-hou-het-niet-vol-met-dat-krapuul). All proceeds from this fundraiser will be presented to Frieda and the other victims. 

This is a call to all my co-Brussels citizens, to all my friends and to all those whom simply care and are ready to make a small sacrifice to help the biggest victims of the riots. We can and we should make a difference! No shady organizations, no profit, only direct help to those who need our support.

As Gandhi once said: ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’. Now more than ever, we need to show solidarity with our fellow Brussels citizens.
